Code: MAC AS HIV patients live longer, DMAC is seen more and more, and associated with decreased survival. Rapid diagnosis and proper therapy can increase survival of these patients. Chemoprophylaxis should be considered for patients with CD4 < 50/sq. mm. to prevent DMAC.
